Jaia is an Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's program student at Pitt’s School of Public Health studying Epidemiology. Around her time assisting with multiple research studies and as a weekend barista, you can catch her taking full advantage of all the fun events unique to Pittsburgh! Coming all the way from her hometown in New Mexico, she loves lounging out on the cool grass or going for a quick run in Schenley park. Her favorite thing about the youth collaborative is getting to know a little bit more about the collaborators through the random question of the day that kicks off each meeting- and through great discussions surrounding NTP videos on social media. She aspires to become a Social Epidemiologist focused on reducing racial and ethnic health disparities in communities.
